Laser hair removal and photoepilation
Laser hair removal is the most effective way to get rid of unwanted hair for a long time. During laser hair removal, a laser emits a pulse of light at a specific wavelength. The pigment in the hair follicle receives it and converts it into heat, which destroys the hair root. The hair no longer grows back. Different types of lasers are used for laser hair removal, the main characteristic of which is the different laser wavelengths, which makes it possible to choose the most suitable laser for the hair and skin type.
The second most effective solution is photoepilation, which works in a similar way but with a lower light pulse power.
Laser/photoepilation can be applied to different areas of the body - face, chest, legs, arms, underarms and bikini. The number and frequency of treatments required depends on the area to be treated, hormonal levels, heredity and hair characteristics. With each successive epilation, the regrown hairs will become thinner and finer, and the maintenance treatment will only need to be carried out once every six months or year. Laser/photo-epilation also has a cosmetic-treatment effect, helping to get rid of ingrown hairs.
Only part of the hair can be removed in one laser/photoepilation session, as the light only destroys the follicles that are in the growth phase.
Laser/photoepilation is performed in the clinic with modern and safe equipment, the principles of which allow the specialist to choose the most suitable type of epilation for each client. The procedure at the Dermatology Clinic is carried out with equipment from world-renowned manufacturers that is properly certified, safe and effective. Laser and photoepilation are performed by experienced medical professionals.
Recommendations before and after laser hair removal (also applies to photoepilation):
- hair must be shaved or cut before the treatment. They must not be plucked out with wax, tweezers or epilators for two weeks before the procedure;
- sunbathing, solarium use and self-tanning creams are not recommended for 2-3 weeks before the treatment;
- if your hair is very dark, you may see brown spots on your skin 2-3 days after laser hair removal;
- stay out of the sun for two weeks after epilation and do not visit a solarium;
- in summer, apply a cream with a protective filter against the sun's ultraviolet radiation on exposed areas of the body where laser hair removal has been performed;
- refrain from sauna, swimming pool and massage for three days after laser treatments;
2-3 days after laser hair removal, do not use alcohol lotions, irritating deodorants and do not exfoliate the skin.
Laser hair removal with the Elos Plus platform
Elos Plus (Candela, USA) combines biopolar radiofrequency and optical laser (915nm) energy.
The combination of radiofrequency and laser makes the laser hair removal process more effective, as the pulse affects not only the core of the hair, but also the sheath.
The advantage of Elos Plus is its ability to target red, light and fine hairs, which are usually more difficult to destroy with laser hair removal. Laser hair removal with Elos Plus is also more effective on dark skin.
Duration: 6-8 treatments every 3-4 weeks.
Laser hair removal with the Gentlelase Pro-U alexandrite laser
The Gentlelase Pro-U (Candela, USA) alexandrite (755nm) laser acts on the melanin in the hair and skin, making it particularly suitable for laser hair removal and the removal of superficial pigment defects.
Thanks to the sophisticated cooling system, laser hair removal treatments can be performed at higher laser power without discomfort during the treatment. Thus, fewer treatments are required to achieve a complete laser hair removal result.
Duration: 6-8 treatments every 3-4 weeks.
Photoepilation with an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device
Intense pulsed light (IPL) photo-epilation devices are used to remove excess hair on any area of the body. The procedure is based on the effect of a pulse of light on the pigment in the root of the hair - the IPL thermal effect destroys the hair root and the hair no longer grows back. IPL photoepilation is most suitable for dark hair.
IPL machines are equipped with cooling solutions, so there is no redness or ingrown hairs after the treatment. The effect of the treatment is individual, only the hairs in the growth phase are affected during the treatment.
Duration: 6-10 treatments every 3-4 weeks.
DermaV laser platform
The Derma V laser platform (Lutronic Medical Systems, Germany) combines the 532nm green diode and 1064nm Nd:YAG laser wavelengths best suited for vascular and pigmentation defects, skin rejuvenation and laser hair removal.
