Facial plastic surgery
Facial plastic surgery is the surgical correction of individual areas of the face as well as the overall correction of the facial oval (e.g. facelift). Facial plastic surgery can correct both congenital and acquired aesthetic defects and reduce the signs of ageing in the face and neck. Facial plastic surgery is safe and as gentle as possible, thanks to the development of the field, modern technologies and the skills of the specialists at the Dermatology Clinic, surgical scars are invisible and the recovery period is short.
Facial plastic or facelift (rhytidectomy)
A facelift involves lifting and tightening the deepest layer of tissue in the face and neck and getting rid of excess skin. The operation significantly reduces the signs of ageing of the face and neck, and the face regains a more youthful, firm appearance.
Unlike non-invasive oval facelift procedures, the effects of facelift surgery are long-lasting, following the basic principles of a healthy lifestyle.
- The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. It takes 2.5 - 3 hours.
- The rehabilitation period after the surgery is 4-6 weeks, but the full result of the surgery can be assessed after half a year.
Correction of the shape of the nose (rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping, improves the aesthetic and functional condition of the nose. Rhinoplasty allows you to create a nose shape and size that matches the proportions of your face, as well as improve airway patency (e.g. correction of the nasal septum).
Rhinoplasty is performed to correct both congenital visual defects and the cosmetic consequences of various nasal injuries.
- The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. It takes 2-3 hours.
Ear shape correction (otoplasty)
Otoplasty, or ear shape correction, improves the shape, symmetry and position of the cochlea in both congenital and acquired cosmetic defects. Otoplasty is a cosmetic operation designed to eliminate aesthetic discomfort and does not affect hearing or ear development. It can be performed in adulthood or in childhood to reduce the psychological discomfort of the child.
- The surgery is performed under local or general anaesthesia. It lasts 1-1.5 h.
Eyelid correction (blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a highly sought-after procedure nowadays, with anti-ageing effects visible almost immediately. Droopy or heavy eyelids are a very common problem. This condition can be hereditary or it can occur due to ageing, trauma and lifestyle. The eyelids can also be made heavy by a greater amount of fatty tissue over the inner corners of the eye. The lower eyelids, on the other hand, may be characterised by swelling and the formation of 'bags'.
Blepharoplasty improves the shape and symmetry of the eyelids. After surgery, the gaze becomes more open and the facial expression more youthful. Blepharoplasty is also necessary when the drooping eyelid begins to obscure the field of vision.
Eyelid correction:
- upper eyelid surgery;
- lower eyelid surgery;
- upper and lower eyelid surgery.
Blepharoplasty is performed under local or general anaesthesia. Duration is 1-1.5 h.
The rehabilitation period after the surgery is about one month, but the full result of the operation can be assessed after three months.
