Podology

A podiatrist is a medical practitioner who performs therapeutic pedicure, preventive foot care and toenail care. A podiatrist has both medical knowledge and practical skills. A podiatrist is familiar with the structure and composition of the foot, skin and nail plate and can notice conditions of both the skin and the whole body that will need to be treated by a doctor. Similar problems of the hands and feet (ingrown toenails, cramps, etc.) are also within the competence of the podiatrist.

When do I need a podiatrist?

You should see a podiatrist if you have the following problems:

  • nail fungus;
  • ingrown, deformed nails;
  • corns, warts;
  • cracked heels, thickened skin on the feet (hyperkeratosis);
  • need a prosthetic toenail, etc.

Beautiful feet are healthy feet!

A visit to a podiatrist can replace a traditional pedicure, as a therapeutic pedicure by a podiatrist is both a great preventive treatment for nails and feet and an aesthetic benefit, as most podiatrists also do nail varnishing.

A podiatrist provides the following services:

  • treatment of various skin conditions on the feet: dermatomycosis, skin cracks, thickening;
  • removal of warts and corns, treatment of ingrown nails, treatment of nails affected by nail fungus (in collaboration with a dermatologist);
  • correction of ingrown nails using the wire or clamp method, nail swabbing;
  • nail prosthetics;
  • foot care for diabetic patients;
  • pedicure, nail varnishing;
  • recommendations for proper foot and nail care.

Sterility control in the Dermatology Clinic podiatrist's office is guaranteed by a special documentation system, as well as disposable packaging for moving and storing instruments and high-quality sterilisation equipment.
