Fillers and Botox injections
Botulinum toxin injections
Botulinum toxin injections, known as Botox injections, are used in the aesthetics industry to treat wrinkles and expression lines (dynamic wrinkles). Botulinum toxin blocks the transmission of nerve impulses in the muscle, which reduces muscle contraction, which in turn reduces mimic activity and inhibits the formation of wrinkles. Botox injections are given at specific sites depending on the indications. The effect of botulinum toxin is transient - it lasts on average six months. To maintain the effect, repeated Botox injections are recommended 1-2 times a year.
Botox injections are safe when performed correctly, as botulinum toxin in the right doses does not pose a health risk. The procedure should only be performed by a properly certified specialist.
Botox injections help prevent:
- horizontal forehead lines;
- the vertical and horizontal lines between the eyebrows;
- crow's feet around the eyes.
Botox injections are also given as a preventive measure to ward off static wrinkles. Static wrinkles develop over time as a result of active facial expressions - dynamic wrinkles, previously visible only when smiling or frowning, become visible when the face is at rest.
Botox injections are used for:
- for the correction of dynamic facial expression lines;
- to relieve hyperhidrosis (increased sweating) of the hands and armpits;
- for chronic migraine pain relief;
- for the treatment of bruxism;
- in vaginismus treatment therapy.
Contraindications:
- hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients;
- generalised muscle activity disorders;
- infection at the injection site;
- taking medicines that affect neuromuscular transmission;
- pregnancy, breastfeeding;
- oncological diseases;
- uncontrolled and/or uncompensated systemic diseases.
Hyaluronic acid injections (fillers) to correct tissue volume
Hyaluronic acid fillers are a fillers or volumising agents. Hyaluronic acid is naturally synthesised in our body, but over time its reserves begin to deplete, resulting in loss of skin elasticity, loosening of the facial oval and the appearance of wrinkles. Fillers are an injection procedure in which hyaluronic acid is injected into the middle and deep layers of the dermis, filling the problem area with a material that lifts and smoothes the sagging skin. Hyaluronic acid injections contain a biodegradable gel that works in the skin for a certain period of time and is eventually eliminated from the body.
Hyaluronic acid injections (fillers):
- fills deep wrinkles;
- corrects the shape of the face (restores the volume and contours of the facial oval);
- improves lip shape and volume.
